I have worked on mainframes programming in COBAL, designing databases for airport airfreight companies. More recently I designed and wrote a program to run a tidal energy generator. | The most efficient laptops are IBM which run on 16 volt and is easily stepped up from 12 volt. Maplin supply a transformer which steps 12 volt down to 5 volt which can be used for digital cameras, Wifi repeaters, and other gadget. Many printers will run from a 12 volt supply, and obviously mobile phones can be powered from the 12-volt system. Several different types of low energy lighting have been tested at WeatherTop.
