WebBanana lives at WeatherTop, named after an Elf Kings castle. WeatherTop is next to a Bronze age Brock, or remains of. The original name of this Brock is unknown, so it could have been WeatherTop.
However the 21 Century WeatherTop is an on going project, now 10 years old, in buildings that produce their own energy. To this end WeatherTop now has 2 solar panels, 1 broken windmill, 1 working windmill and 1 windmill under construction. The energy is 12 volt and stored in Batteries.
The building is all 12 or 5 volt DC, except the water heater which is 240 Volt AC and comes from an inverter which turns on when the battery voltage hits 14 volts. It stays on heating water until the battery voltage comes down to 12.90 volts. Then it turns off. A constant supply of hot water in the winter would be deeply worrying, but is possible in the summer. After 10 years at this project I can advise anyone that.....!*$.....
So now that is fully understood, what about WebBanana. Many people think WebBanana is just me, which it is most of the time. But others are involved as well depending on the job. This gives flexibility and keeps cost down. Situated in Orkney UK, most projects are web orientated, but programming for hardware such as tide generating devices do pop up from time to time.
12 Volt lights I recommend. The best low energy lighting comes from a UK company called Med Electronics, 41 Ridgeway, Nettleham, Lincoln LN2 2TL, UK, 01522 826904.
